About

This is just a short excerpt for the about page.

The Daytona 99s club was first established at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) as a collegiate chapter. The name of the club back then was the Daytona Beachin Eagles 99s. However, since men were not allowed in the 99s, ERAU would not let the club operate on campus and the club needed to pivot.

With hard work from several members, in December 2015, the club was transfered to a regular chapter. The first chair of the new chapter was Carolina Lenz- Anderson, followed by Virginie Rollins and Naiara Petralanda as co-chairs in 2016. At that point, the name of the club changed to the Daytona 99s.

Participation in the Daytona 99s chapter has ebbed and flowed over the course of the club’s life. Current leadership is hoping to continue to built on all the hard work and membership of previous groups and bring regular flying, volunteer and social opportunities to our members. We welcome any input, recommendations or thoughts from the club. See you soon!
