Mark November 4th on your calendar! The Spaceport chapter of the 99s will be training the Daytona chapter on how to layout and paint a compass rose. Laura Sherwood, longtime airmarking chairman of the Spaceport chapter, will be passing on her expertise. Airmarking is a l-o-o-o-ng tradition of the 99s.
WHEN: Saturday, November 4th, 2017
TIME: Laying out the rose starts at 8:30 am Painting will start about 9:30
WHERE: Williston Airport, Fl. X60 Park at the FBO (see airport information below)
WHO: Come one, come all. The more people we have the faster the project will be finished. Husbands, significant others, friends, kids, pilots, non-pilots, everybody is welcome! Even if you can only come for a couple of hours, the help will be greatly appreciated!
FOOD: The Airport manager will supply lunch for all and plenty of drinking water.
We want to let him know approximately how many are coming, would really appreciate it if you would reply to this email to let us know if you are planning on coming and if you are bringing friends with you to help. The more people, the faster it goes! Please RSVP to me by October 28th. (If you have already RSVP’d to Bobbi, please do not RSVP to me too or we’ll count you twice).
IMPORTANT INFO FOR YOU: Bring sunscreen, a hat, water jug that will not blow away, something to sit on (cushion, pad, or gardening stool), paint brushes (if you have some), paint trays w/ liners, a broom for sweeping the area before we start, and Your Enthusiasm. Also wear OLD clothes, the ground is dirty and we always get paint on us.
Plane/car pooling: Please let me know in your RSVP if you need/want a ride and where from. There are a couple of planes going as well as cars, so we can help organize transportation.
Daytona 99s meeting: The Daytona chapter will have a planning meeting for our fundraiser over the lunch break, so you can switch to your thinking hat for about 30 minutes.

All,
Just a reminder to RSVP before Saturday if you plan on volunteering for the compass rose painting on November 4th (initial email below). We need a headcount for lunch.
We have some plane/car pooling going on. So far, I have:- Promise and Caroline L. in Virginie’s plane leaving from DeLand (1 seat left)- Naiara leaving from Leesburg by plane (3 seats left)- Addy leaving in Lauren’s car from Sanford (I’m assuming 2 seats left, Lauren has to leave Williston at 4pm at the latest).
Please let me know if your name is not on the list and you are planning on coming.
Thanks!
VirginieCo-chair, Daytona 99s
